We took the Ramblin' out for the DRYC cruise to Catalina for July 1st to 5th 2010.
Our Crossing to Catalina was on reasonably flat water and a little overcast at first. Then as we neared the island the sun came out and we had blue skies and fabulous blue seas. We made good speed after we rounded the West End and headed downhill to Cat Harbor.
Keith hosted the Friday baseball game. It saw a little early for that. Many boats were still in transit. But just the same we did try and succeed in having enough players. It was a good game. The Good guys slaughtered the bad guys 18 to 7. or something like that.

Ryan and Thomas like the newer Jet Ski
On Saturday the 3rd there was a nice day for water play. It started off with a little bit of fishing for Keith. Lots of jet ski play for Ryan and Thomas. Kayaking for Trish and Teresa. Followed by a bit of dinghy boat hopping/cocktailing. And after dinner the nice walk over to Two Harbors for the fireworks. Two Harbors get the fireworks display a day early. Then they move the barge down to Avalon for the big show on the 4th.

Loaded up on sheep's head for the fish chowder.
On Sunday we were drizzled on a bit. So we slept in. Relaxed and visited with friends on the roomy bridge of the boat Play Space. Play Space was our side-tie for the weekend. The rains broke for us so that we could hold the Dinghy Parade. We dressed up our dinghy and got into the parade. It was at least 21 DRYC vessels/dinghies/floats/kayaks. And a few other guests tagged along.
On Monday we decided to do a little adventuring on the return voyage. We detoured a little and stopped for lunch at Emerald Bay and snorkeled in the clean waters with nice visibility around Indian Rock.
